If you feel you are in ‘Crisis’?

What is a ‘crisis’ defined as?

A crisis can mean something different to everyone, but if you are at a point where you cannot see how to address how you are feeling, are unable to rationally think what is the best thing to do for you, we would urge you to consider if this is a ‘crisis’ moment.

A mental health crisis is considered to be when you feel at breaking point, and you need urgent help to support you in managing it. For example you may be:

  • feeling extremely anxious, having panic attacks or flashbacks

  • feeling suicidal, or considering self-harming.

  • having an episode of hypomania or mania, (feeling very high) or psychosis (maybe hearing voices, or feeling paranoid).

You may be in crisis if you are dealing with bereavement, addiction, abuse, money problems, relationship breakdown, workplace stress, exam stress, housing problems or a send of hopelessness. You may be managing a mental health diagnosis or you may not know why you're feeling this way now, but know it is extreme and you need help.
